Leadership Programme for PINTAR School Leaders Batch 5 Phase 1



The LPPSL Batch 5, Phase 1 programme was held at WP Hotel Kuala Lumpur from 17 to 20 September. Forty-one school leaders – headmasters, principals and head of subjects (ketua panitia) from 24 PINTAR schools, took part in the workshop, which was facilitated by a team from RITE Education Consultancy, who developed the PINTAR Core Programme for Leaders (PCL). The PCL is aimed at helping school leaders to have a better understanding of their roles as leaders of learning in communicating and implementing a shared vision for 21st century learning through holistic approach. 

In his opening speech, PINTAR Chairman, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Arshad Ayub, urged school leaders and teachers to be equipped or equip themselves with certain skills such as 21st century leadership skills in order for them to be able to face the challenges of 21st century education and meet its teaching and 
learning objectives.

The highlight of the workshop was the visit to the oldest British international school in Asia, Alice Smith School Kuala Lumpur, where workshop participants took part in ‘Learning at Alice Smith – Pedagogy and Practices’, and ‘Learning Walks’ sessions and learned how teachers at the Alice Smith school implemented 21st century learning with affordable learning kits and engaged students in fun-filled activities. 

On the final day of the workshop, PINTAR Trustee, Encik Sabri Abdul Rahman, took the opportunity to reiterate the importance of quality leadership in transforming school performance for 21st 
century learning.
