Leadership Training for PINTAR School Leaders - Phase 1 Batch 2


The Leadership Training for PINTAR School Leaders has completed its first batch of schools and has now moved on to the second batch.

Phase 1 of the second batch was recently organized by PINTAR Foundation at the MAS Academy, Kelana Jaya and was held from 11th – 13th October 2012. Led by BOT member, Datuk Mary Yap, the programme was participated by 43 school leaders from 22 active PINTAR schools.

The three-day programme was designed to give a truly enriching experience for the participants as it showcased well known Malaysian leaders as its speakers which included the likes of Tan Sri Wan Zahid, Media Prima’s Datuk Johan Jaafar and Datuk Amrin Awaluddin, and also Tan Sri Arshad Ayub who shared their thoughts on leadership as well as their experiences in leading a big company.

The programme also included info sharing by experienced educators such as Prof Dato’ Dr Hussein Ahmad, Felo Penyelidik Kanan, Institut Kepimpinan Pendidikan, Universiti Malaya who gave an introduction on Redefining Leadership, and also Puan Junaidah Thamby from SK Seri Bintang sharing her experience of utilizing ICT in the classroom and ways to lessen administrative work for teachers using ICT. Datuk Mary also contributed in sharing her experience of turning her school around.

The group also had the opportunity to visit MAS’s mock up plane area as well as Media Prima’s studios. Tan Sri Arshad closed the programme by sharing his experience on leadership and his advice on giving back to the community. The programme was well received by the school leaders. They truly appreciate and welcome the experiences shared.
