PINTAR - HELP Teacher's Training for Inclusive Education Programme (PHP)

PINTAR Foundation is currently embarking on a 12-month pilot project on Inclusive Education, a new programme in collaboration with HELP University and funded by Yayasan Hasanah.

Among the PINTAR-HELP Teachers’ Training for Inclusive Education Program (PHP) objectives were to have a better understanding of the schools’ current belief, attitudes and perception towards Special Education Needs (SEN) and Inclusive Education Programme, and observe teachers’ teaching in the classroom for SEN children.

Between 26 July and 2 August, pre-training visits were conducted for a baseline/situational study as samples at six PINTAR schools – SK Yaacob Latif (1) in Kuala Lumpur; SK Kuang and SK Telok Gadong in Selangor; SK Senawang in Negeri Sembilan; SK Gangsa in Melaka, and SK Fakeh Samad in Pahang.

It is hoped that with the successful implementation of PHP in 30 selected PINTAR schools in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Pahang, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan, the Foundation is able to support the Ministry of Education’s effort to increase the enrolment rate for Inclusive Education Programme to 30% by end of 2017.
