Yayasan PINTAR - One of many innovative CSR initiatives by GLCs
Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop recounts how PINTAR Foundation came in 2006 when the idea of PINTAR came about during an iftar session in Putrajaya which was attended by 13 Government Linked Companies (GLCs) who later went on to become PINTAR pioneer member companies.  He recall his own experience as a kampung boy in a small rural school, during his primary education years where his school had a very little amenities, not even a library. The team acknowledged the plight of many students from schools located far away from towns and cities who did not have sufficient access to education and concurred that a boost from corporate companies in the form of strategic collaborations was the solution. Following that, the concept of PINTAR was conceived.

Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop currently is a deputy chairman and executive committee (EXCO) chairman at Khazanah Nasional Bhd. He played a major role in government-linked companies (GLC) transformation programme and the birth of PINTAR Foundation where GLCs can support programmes involving adopting schools around the nation through PINTAR.
